Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Taylor is a famous American actress and producer recognized for her roles performed on the television series Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist and The television series The Mentalist. She received a BA at Brown University in African-American Studies. In the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she received an MFA. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis, a writer and American actor active in the theatre as well as television and film. She began her career acting in the theatre and then went on to be a part of numerous television shows, both mainstream and independent films. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she won critical acclaim as well as numerous nominations and awards including the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. She made her professional acting debut with the character Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. Her credits on stage include The Broadway production that Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Her most well-known work is her roles in the films Men of Honor as well as The Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. On television, her part in the ABC's crime drama High Incident is well known.
