Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina was the first to debut her sly lyrics that tackled issues of racial identity and sexuality with an incisive and humorous perspective, before increasing her appeal to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living in Forest Hills Queens. Her initial exposure to music stemmed from playing the trumpet. Additionally, she was given the classical and jazz education later becoming a hip-hop teenager. In college, she studied Women's Studies and Journalism. She even spent some time learning Mandarin at the University of Beijing. Then, after graduation, when she decided to turn her attention on music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success over the Internet which led to her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The other viral hit songs included queef track and the equally winking NYC Bitchecity tour. It was also included in Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, published in the year 2015. After establishing herself as a singer and author, she was able to accept the character of an actor. Along with the early TV shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in film projects like Neighbors as well as Storks. The actress made headlines in the year 2018 when she appeared in a number of high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8, as well as Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
